Syrian Army Wins Street Battles against Rebels in Aleppo City
The Syrian Army, in a series of heavy street clashes with the rebels, pushed the fighters back form their positions, and advanced in various neighborhoods of the Aleppo city, military sources in the North announced.
The sources said that bloody street clashes between the army commandoes and the rebels erupted in several neighborhoods, including Air Force Academy, Bani Zaid, al-Zebdiye, al-Mansoura, Kafr Hamra, al-Fardous, Andan, al-Asrafiye, al-Sha’ar in Aleppo city, which resulted in the killing or wounding of tens of the militants.
The sources added that the army has now better monitoring position over the city.
On Friday, large groups of militants were killed in a Syrian army air raid on terrorists’ concentration centers in Aleppo countryside.
The Syrian warplanes struck Al-Sha’ar region in the Eastern parts of Aleppo and killed at least 40 terrorists.
Several notorious terrorists, including Abdel Karim al-Abd nicknamed Abu Fauz and Mohamed al-Issa also known as Abu Mahmoud Jebeli, were among those killed in the army’s military operations in Al-Sha’ar region.
Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.
