Syrian Army Captures a Number of Villages in the Al-Ghaab Plains
The conglomerate of terrorist factions “Jaysh Al-Fateh” received a rude awakening on Saturday morning, as the Syrian Arab Army’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the 106th Brigade of the Republican Guard – conducted a surprise counter-offensive in the Al-Ghaab Plains, capturing a number of villages and hills in the process.
On Saturday morning, the Syrian Armed Forces attacked the collection rural villages in the western countryside of the Al-Ghaab Plains of Hama, killing over two dozen enemy combatants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham before taking full control of the villages of Qabr Al-Fadah, Al-Ramleh, Al-Ashrafiyah, and Al-Haweez.
Following their capture of the aforementioned villages, the Syrian Armed Forces targeted the hills surrounding the strategic towns of Al-Sirmaniyah and Ishtabraq, resulting in a series of fierce firefights with the militants from Ansar Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Nusra, and Jund Al-Aqsa in the Al-Ghaab Plains near the Prophet Younis Mountains of Latakia.
The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) did not sit idly on Saturday, as they launched over 40 airstrikes on the towns of Kafr Zita, Al-Dalaak, Al-Lahaya, ‘Aydoun, Khanayfees, Al-Kreem, Qastoun, and Taloul Al-Hamr in the Hama Governorate, destroying a number of enemy vehicles, while also targeting a multitude of militant gathers.
In addition to their aerial assault over the town of Al-Kreem, the Syrian Arab Army carried out an assault on Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontline positions at the town of Al-Kreem, reportedly killing 7 militants before the clashes dissipated on Saturday afternoon.
