Breaking: Syrian Army and Hezbollah Capture 46 Buildings in Al-Zabadani
The Syrian Arab Army’s 63rd Brigade of the prestigious 4th Mechanized Division – alongside Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – have captured over 46 buildings along the road from the Al-Jami’yat District to the city-center, leaving many militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and the Syrian Al-Qaeda dead.
Among the buildings captured by the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah were the Al-Zabadani Sugar Station and the Abu Mazen Villa; these buildings were the location of some of the fiercest in Al-Zabadani over the last 48 hours.
Following their success at the Al-Jami’yat District, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah carried out a powerful assault on Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s defensive positions to the east of the Al-Zahra Mosque and the Castle, capturing more building blocks, while also killing 16 enemy combatants.
On Sunday, Hezbollah and the Syrian Armed Forces issued a final ultimatum to the militants of Jabhat Al-Nusra, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army’s “Al-Zabadani Hawks Brigade” to agree to a complete surrender or else prepare for the final assault on their defensive positions inside Al-Zabadani.
Hezbollah and the Syrian Armed Forces are currently in control of 85 percent of this resort-city in the Rif Dimashq Governorate’s western countryside, while the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra are completely surrounded and under a full-scale siege.
