The Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces (NDF) carried out a fresh round of anti-ISIL offensives in Northeastern Homs and forced the Takfiri group to retreat from more key heights.
The Syrian pro-government forces hit the ISIL strongholds hard and captured Tal Sawwan hilltop and several other heights around it after conducting a cleansing operation in Northeast Homs.

With Tal Sawwan under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces will now concentrate their efforts at al-Sha’er mountain.

In relevant developments in Central province on Monday, the Syrian Army and its allies repelled ISIL’s offensive in the Northern side of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur), and forced the terrorist group to retreat from the battlefield without any gain.

“The ISIL’s offensives to retake control over several military warehouses the army captured three days ago were fended off by the Syrian pro-government forces,” the sources said, adding, “The ISIL launched its attacks by using several bomb-laden suicide vehicles to hit the government forces’ positions.”

“The Takfiri terrorists later pounded the warehouses by artillery and missile shelling, but the Syrian army, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, did not allow the terrorists to advance and retake the warehouses,” the sources added.

“The ISIL, at the end, left behind scores of the dead or wounded members and fled the battlefields,” the sources went on to say.
