Syrian Army advances inside key rural Damascus town
On Friday night, the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard forces continued their large-scale advance inside the imperative West Ghouta town of Darayya, capturing several neighborhoods from the Islamist rebels of Ajnad Al-Sham in the Association Quarter.
According to a military source inside of Damascus City, the Syrian Armed Forces captured a number of building blocks near the Four Seasons Hotel neighborhood of Darayya, killing a total of 5 militants and wounding another 10 from Ajnad Al-Sham in the process of this latest government advance.
The source added that the Syrian Armed Forces were able to advance inside of the Darayya Association Quarter after launching a barrage of missiles and artillery shells towards Ajnad Al-Sham’s defenses.
The Syrian Armed Forces are now in control of over 65% of Darayya, leaving only the town-center and western district under the control of the Islamist rebels.
