IRGC arrests 2 Pakistani terrorists in southeast Iran

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces have arrested two terrorists with Pakistani nationality in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

The IRGC forces detained the terrorists in the Kalehgan region in the city of Saravan, near the border with Pakistan, after learning that they had crossed into the country.

According to a statement by the IRGC, the terrorists had been funded by Saudi Arabia and had received intelligence assistance from spy agencies of enemy states.

The IRGC forces confiscated large quantities of weapons and ammunition and also found and defused two bombs in the Pakistani terrorists’ hideout that had been planned to be exploded in crowded places in Iran.

The two were detained promptly in a covert operation before the terrorists could find an opportunity to carry out any move.

The men are of Pakistani origin and members of a terrorist group that is hostile to the Islamic Republic and had entered Iran with the purpose of carrying out acts of sabotage and terrorism.

The terrorists have confessed that they were planning to conduct acts of sabotage.

Earlier in September, the IRGC announced that it has dismantled a terrorist group, backed by Saudi Arabia and the United States, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
