The Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard launched a counter-offensive in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus on Monday, targeting Jaysh Al-Islam’s (Army of Islam) defenses at the key town of Al-Reyhan.
The 105th Brigade’s assault began on Monday morning, when their forces, alongside the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA), stormed the western district of Al-Reyhan, recapturing several areas en route to the Tal Kurdi axis.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade and their allies captured the football fields and the Paint Factory on Monday after a fierce battle with Jaysh Al-Islam near Tal Kurdi’s outskirts.
