The jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab are completely surrounded and facing a crushing defeat in east Aleppo after losing more than 45 percent of the territory they controlled last week.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this imminent defeat for the jihadist rebels is the velocity at which they have lost these east Aleppo districts to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies.

District after district have fallen to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), forcing the jihadist rebels to rapidly retreat south in order to avoid being overrun and outflanked by the pressing forces in eastern Aleppo.

On Monday morning, the jihadist rebels suffered another string of defeats at the hands of the government forces, resulting in the capture of the entire northern pocket of east Aleppo.

According to a military source in Aleppo City, the Syrian Arab Army has captured all of the districts that border Sakour’s northern and eastern axes after a swift assault this morning.

With the northern part captured, the Syrian Armed Forces can now turn their attention to the last half of the east Aleppo pocket; this will arguably the most difficult battle they face inside the provincial capital.
