Syrian Army kills 2 senior terrorist commanders in Hama
Two high-level commanders of the FSA-affiliated Jaigh al-Izza have been killed yesterday in clashes with the government forces in the town of Taybat al-Imam, northern Hama countryside.
The group’s official account on social media mourned the death of Saher Saleh and Mohammed Jallad; both described as ‘senior military commanders’ while attempting to curb the government troops’ advance.
The US-backed armed faction is fighting alongside al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria; Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly known as Jabhet al-Nusra) in the northern countryside of Hama, and was responsible of several deadly rocket attacks on the Christian city of Mahardah.
The Syrian Army, backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, was capable of recapturing the longtime rebel stronghold of Taybat al-Imam following fierce battles with the jihadi groups.
