Syrian Army, Hezbollah begin assault to liberate gas rich town in east Palmyra
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah and Russian Marines, launched their imperative assault to liberate the gas rich town of Arak in the eastern countryside of Palmyra this morning.
Beginning at 3 A.M. (Damascus Time), the Syrian Arab Army and their allies stormed the remaining hilltops overlooking Arak, while Russian airstrikes bombarded the Islamic State’s (ISIL) supply lines from the large town of Sukhnah to the east.
According to a military source in Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies have already advanced, today, capturing a number of points from the terrorist forces.
The source added that the town of Arak could fall to the Syrian Armed Forces by nightfall, given their recent success on the ground.
