General Soleimani Underlines Failure of Enemies’ Regional Plots against Iran
“They had paved the ground for very heavy incidents against us through the regional developments just due to their hostility towards us and to annihilate the Islamic Republic but they sustained a humiliating defeat,” General Soleimani said at Imam Hossein (AS) University in Tehran on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, he underlined that the legal government in Syria is a linking bridge to the resistance front in Lebanon and Palestine, and expressed satisfaction that the country has been able to thwart enemies’ plots and defeat the terrorist groups and their supporters.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Top Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi warned that Saudi Arabia, the US and Israel are hatching new plots against the region after their mercenary terrorists sustained heavy defeats in Iraq and Syria.
“The ISIL is being defeated and actually, the ISIL defeat is the failure of the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and the Zionists’ coalition in the region,” General Rahim Safavi said.
Noting that insecurities stirred by the US will possibly continue in Iraq even after the annihilation of the ISIL, he said, “After the failures of the US, Saudi Arabia and the Zionists in Iraq and Syria, a new plot may start in the Persian Gulf region by the same coalition.”
Also, in December, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan warned that Israel and its allies are attempting to strengthen the terrorist groups and prolong insecurity in the region to their benefit.
“The Takfiri-terrorist stream which has been created by the Americans, the Zionists, the reactionary Arabs of the region and even certain countries like Turkey will not be confined to Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq; it is a pervasive event which distorts and threatens the global system and security,” General Deqan said in Tehran.
He said that the Zionists and the arrogant countries are making their best efforts to prolong this atmosphere because it depletes the revolutionary potential of the Muslim world.
Stressing that Iran considers the regional security as its own security, General Dehqan said, “Insecurity and chaos in the region affects security of others as well.”
