Awqaf: Friday prayers will be performed at al-Aqsa gates only
The Islamic Awqaf (endowment) Department in Occupied Jerusalem decided to close all the mosques in the city and to perform Friday prayers at the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque which has been closed since last Friday.
In a press conference at Jerusalem court on Wednesday, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Muhammad Hussein said, that Palestinians will not accept Israeli offensive measures at al-Aqsa. All Palestinians refuse the changes on the status quo in Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque, which have been imposed since last Friday, he highlighted.
Preacher of al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, for his part, stressed that Palestinian worshipers at al-Aqsa will not accept to pass through metal detectors set by Israeli police.
