Haneyya: Halamish operation was a response to Israel’s crimes in Qods
Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has described the stabbing operation that was carried out by Omar al-Abed two days ago in the illegal settlement of Halamish as “a response to Israel’s crimes in Occupied Jerusalem and at the Aqsa Mosque.”
This came in a telephone conversation with the father of Omar on Saturday evening.
Haneyya lauded Omar for his courage and the sacrifice he made for the Aqsa Mosque, adding that his stabbing attack was also an act of retaliation for the killing of Palestinian citizens during the Friday of anger marches.
The Hamas official hailed Omar as one of the Palestinian people’s patriotic sons, affirming that the Movement would stand by his family.
19-year-old Omar Abed on Friday night managed to infiltrate into a house in Halamish settlement, killing three Jewish settlers and injuring another before he was shot and wounded by an Israeli soldier.
Earlier on the same day, three Palestinian young men were killed when Israeli police forces attacked pro-Aqsa protests in different areas of Jerusalem. One of the victims was reportedly shot dead by a settler during the events.
