Imam Khomeini Space Center to address Iran’s aerospace industry needs for 10 years

Imam Khomeini Space Center (IKSC) would fulfill Iran’s all aerospace industry needs for the next 10 years, an offical at Iran’s Electronics Industry (SAIRAN) said here on Friday.

Talking to IRNA, Mahdi Nassiri said the Iranian aerospace scientists have managed to put the country’s military capabilities into commercial use.

He also congragulated the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Presdient Hassan Rouhani and the scientists of Iran’s Aerospace Industries Organization(AIO) for inaguration of IKSC which was officially opened with tentative launching of Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite carrier into the space on July 27.

The offcial reiterated that the center has been entirely designed and built by the skilled and proficient experts of the Defense Ministry’s Aerospace Organization.

Nasiri reiterated that the AIO scientists built the IKSC while the santions were imposed againt the country based on the state-of-art technologies.

He added the center is considered as the first base in southwest of Asia.

The IKSC is the first fixed platform base of Iran and is a huge complex undertaking all operations for preparation, launching, control and guiding satellite carriers.

The IKSC is capable of addressing the country’s all needs in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in the final phase.

Simorgh satellite carrier can also place up to 250 kg satellites in the earth’s 500 km orbit.
