Syrian Army, Hezbollah will participate in Lebanese border offensive, decision final
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah will participate in the upcoming offensive along the Lebanese border, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar tonight.
When asked what the Syrian government’s opinion on some members of the Lebanese Parliament rejecting the SAA’s participation in the upcoming Qalamoun offensive, the source told Al-Masdar that the decision is final.
“Damascus is not concerned with the words of a few politicians. The army and Hezbollah will liberate every part of the border,” the source stated.
On Wednesday, some Lebanese MPs argued that no member of the government should work with the Syrian authorities, despite the fact Da’esh occupies both sides of the border in the Qalamoun Mountains.
The Lebanese Army is also participating in the offensive, targeting the Islamic State’s last positions in the Ras Ba’albak region of the Beqa’a Governorate.
