Syrian Army urges Jaysh Al-Islam to surrender Douma

For the second time in the last 24 hours, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has called on Jaysh Al-Islam to surrender the town of Douma.

However, Jaysh Al-Islam has repeatedly refused to surrender Douma and responded to the Syrian Army’s calls by heavily shelling the government areas in Damascus city.

With thousands of Syrian Army troops surrounding Douma as we speak, Jaysh Al-Islam’s time to avoid a military confrontation is quickly expiring.

The Syrian Army would like to avoid a military operation in Douma because it will be incredibly costly for all parties involved, but this doesn’t seem likely at this point.
