Terrorists Sustain Heavy Defeat in Failed Offensive against Army in Hama
The Syrian army units engaged in clashes with Jibhat al-Islamiyeh (Islamic Front) terrorists who had launched an offensive on their positions in al-Satahiyat region in Southwestern Hama, the sources said, stressing that the army concurrently attacked the militants’ moves and bases in al-Satahiyat and al-Quneitra in Southwestern Hama with artillery fire.
They added that a large number of terrorists were killed and wounded in the attack and the remaining militants were forced to withdraw.
Meantime, in Northern Hama, other army troops clashed with al-Nusra terrorists near al-Masasenah region, inflicting casualties on them.
Also, the army’s artillery units targeted the terrorists’ positions in al-Latamina, Murak and the town of al-Ziyarah in Western al-Qab region in Northern Hama, inflicting heavy damage on them.
In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian Armed Forces carried out heavy attacks on the strongholds of the Al-Nusra Front in Southern Idlib and Northern Hama on Wednesday, inflicting major losses on the militants.
The army’s artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ strongholds in al-Latamina and its nearby regions and in Kafr Zita in Northern Hama.
The army aircraft also bombed heavily the Al-Nusra positions in al-Naqir region and near the small town of al-Habit and in the village of Abedin in Southern Idlib.
Tens of terrorists were killed or wounded and several of their positions and command posts were destroyed in the attacks.
In the meantime, the army men engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra in al-Satahiyat West of the town of al-Salamiyah in Hama, killing a number of militants.
