Breaking: Syrian Army’s Tiger Forces head to southern Damascus for showdown with ISIS

breaking-news

The Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces have received orders to redeploy from the East Ghouta region to southern Damascus, a military source told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.

Following their victory in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command made the decision to send the Tiger Forces to the Yarmouk Camp and Al-Qadam districts in order to halt the Islamic State’s (ISIS) advance in the area.

ISIS was recently able to seize more than 90 percent of the Al-Qadam District after a swift offensive against the Syrian Arab Army late last month.

The Tiger Forces will be leading this offensive alongside their allies from the Republican Guard and several Palestinian paramilitary groups.

Among the Palestinian paramilitary groups participating in this offensive will be the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), Liwaa Al-Quds, Qawat Al-Jaleel, and Fatah Al-Intifada.

The Syrian Army and their Palestinian allies have finished their preparations and should be launching this offensive in the coming hours.
