Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Pounds Terrorists’ Positions after Militants’ Attack on Residential Areas in Quneitra

 

The terrorist group’s strongholds in the Southwestern province of Quneitra came under the Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units’ heavy fire after the former shelled residential areas in the town of al-Ba’ath and its outskirts on Saturday.

Deployed in the Northern and Western directions of the town of al-Ba’ath (new Quneitra), terrorists launched mortar attacks on residential units in the town and its suburbs.

The Syrian army’s artillery and missile units retaliated and pounded terrorists’ positions, and destroyed their positions and military equipment; killing or wounding a number of the terrorists.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Quneitra

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at the terrorist group’s strongholds in the Southwestern province of Quneitra after the latter shelled residential areas in the town of al-Ba’ath and its outskirts on Saturday.

Terrorists, deployed in the Northern and Western directions of the town of al-Ba’ath (new Quneitra), launched mortar attacks on residential units in the town and its suburbs.

The artillery and missile units retaliated and pounded terrorists’ positions, destroying their positions and military equipment and killing or wounding a number of the terrorists.

The terrorist groups, specially the Al-Nusra front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board), deployed in Quneitra’s countryside are supported directly by Israel.

Aleppo

Fresh clashes between the Ankara-backed militants and a group of Kurdish militias left number casualties on both warring sides on Saturday.

The Turkey-backed militants engaged in heavy fighting with a group of the Kurdish militias in the villages of Ma’abatli region after two months of the Turkish army’s rule over the region.

Also, the Turkish army’s artillery units pounded the Kurdish positions in the battlefield.

A number of militants were killed or wounded on both sides, while several Kurdish militias were captured by the Ankara forces.

In the meantime, sources in Manbij region in Northern Aleppo reported that the Ankara forces have been looting people’s assets and expelling them from the town of Manbij.

Raqqa

French military plan to set up a security base in Western Raqqa that is under the control of the US-backed militias, a militant-affiliated news website reported on Saturday.

Smart news reported that the French Forces paid a visit to Kandal Field in Western Raqqa in Northeastern Syria that is under the control of Washington-backed militias.

It further said that the French forces left their base in the town of Manbij in Northern Aleppo to set up a security base in western Raqqa, adding that almost 140 militias will go under intelligence- security trainings under the French forces’ supervision.

Meantime, other reports said the French are running talks with ISIL in Eastern Syria.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops continued to strike the remaining strongholds of ISIL in Hajar al-Aswad region in the Southern part of Damascus province, imposing control over more areas on Saturday.

The army men, backed up by the artillery units, stormed ISIL’s positions Northwest of Hajar al-Aswad and managed to advance towards al-Urobah street and al-Wasim Grand Mosque, taking control over several points.

In the meantime, the army aircraft and missile units pounded ISIL’s movements in Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp, destroying several supply lines of the terrorists.

Meanwhile, a field source reported that the army’s advances North of Hajar al-Aswad and South of Yarmouk Camp have been slowed down due to the density of residential areas in the region, and that the army tries to avoid battle in residential areas.

Idlib

Aqaba Kalash, a notorious commander of terrorists affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA), was killed along with a number of his comrades in the Syrian Army missile attack in Western Idlib on Saturday.

The missile units targeted and destroyed a vehicle of the terrorists near a road to al-Mansoureh region in al-Ghaab Plain in Western Idlib, killing the Commander of the Heavy Weapons Battalion of the FSA-affiliated Islamic Liberation Brigade Aqaba Kalash and a number of his comrades.

In the meantime, other artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ positions in Jisr al-Shughour and Ashtabraq regions in Western Idlib.
