Iraqi forces arrest commander of ISIL’s “Islamic Police” at Syrian border
The Iraqi military has arrested another high ranking commander of ISIS that was attempting to infiltrate from Syria, the Security Media Center stated.
“The military intelligence department managed, during an operation, to besiege one of the militants, while infiltrating via the Iraqi borders coming from Syria,” the Security Media Center reported, as quoted by Iraq News.
The member, according to the statement, “belongs to the militant group’s so called ‘Islamic Police.’ He used to work within the group’s Hit State.”
The identity of the terrorist has not yet been released to the public.
