Syrian military raises flag over three towns in southern Damascus
A huge crowd gathered in southern Damascus, today, to watch the Syrian military raise the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic over the town of Babila.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the crowd gathered at Martyrs Square in Babila, where they would later watch the flag raising ceremony.
The Syrian military officially took control of Babila, Yalda, and Beit Sahm earlier this month, following the evacuation of the last rebel forces in these towns.
Since the evacuation of the rebels, the Syrian military worked to clear the towns of any potential hazards, including IEDs and land mines that were left behind by the rebels.
