Popular Uprising against Turkish Army, Allies Reported in Northern Syria
Over 500 civilians in Jarabulus embarked on demonstrating against the Turkish troops and their militant allies after Friday Prayers and called for expulsion of gunmen of the Ankara-led Euphrates Shield from their region.
A number of protestors hoisted the Syrian government’s flag in the town and called for reestablishment of Syria’s legal institution.
In some areas the protestors embarked on closing off roads and main streets in the region.
The demonstration came after seven civilians were killed and wounded in a fresh infighting between Ahrar al-Sham terrorists and Liwa al-Shomal affiliated to the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Popular uprising against Ankara forces were previously reported in the towns of al-Bab and al-Ra’ei in Northeastern Aleppo.
In a similar development last month, a sum of 100 people in the village of Kouran near Jandaris, which is the second large town in Afrin region, gathered in front of a base of the Turkish troops, opposing occupation of their region by Ankara forces.
The protestors called for expulsion of Ahrar al-Sham terrorists, affiliated to the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army, from their region.
The Ankara-backed militants have been looting or stealing the villagers’ assets.
Also, people in the town al-Bab in Northern Aleppo staged vast demonstrations against the Turkish army and its allies at the time.
