‘israel’ Bows to Hezbollah Threats, Says Ready to Negotiate Defining Land-Sea Border with Lebanon
The Lebanese newspapers on Wednesday quoted the House Speaker Nabih Berri as saying that the US delegation which visited Beirut last week conveyed an Israeli proposal to negotiate the demarcation of the land-sea border, including the occupied Shebaa Farms.
Berri stressed that it is a chance for Lebanon to regain its rights, adding that the Lebanese officials demanded that the US delegation fetch a formal proposal from the Zionist occupation authorities.
On Tuesday, Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said that “suggestion of new ideas proposed through the US back-channel talks to mediate a maritime dispute between ‘Israel’ and Lebanon have complicated operations for gas and oil exploration.”
He added that some “new ideas are on the table,” but declined to elaborate further.
On Monday, Lebanon’s senior officials met at the Presidential Palace where talks focused on the demarcation of Lebanon’s border and the dispute with the Zionist occupation entity.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah vowed that the Resistance would confront any Israeli aggression on Lebanon and its resources, stressing that the party has the ability to disable all the Zionist offshore installations within hours.
