Breaking: Syrian Army pushes south to second major town in southwest Syria

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their advance in southwest Syria, today, after seizing the strategic town of Busra Al-Harir and neighboring Maliha Al-Atrash.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Army pushed south from Busra Al-Harir to the town of Madajin, where they were confronted by a small force of jihadist rebels.

According to preliminary reports from this front, the Syrian Army has captured Madajin and they are now pushing east to the neighboring town of Nahitah.

If the Syrian Army is successful in capturing these two towns, they will be within striking distance of the jihadist stronghold of Al-Hirak for the first time in years.

Al-Hirak is one of the largest towns in east Dara’a; if captured, they will have a gateway to the southeastern countryside of the province.

Furthermore, the Syrian Arab Army will be able to secure the Sweida-Izra’a Highway for the first time in years.
