Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Heavy Offensive in Lattakia Province
The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Tahrir al-Sham and its terrorists allies, deployed in the village of Nawara in Jabal al-Turkmen, and repelled their attack on government forces’ positions between Nawara and the village of Arirah.
Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.
Lattakia
The Syrian Army troops engaged in tough battle with the Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at terrorists in Northern Lattakia, repelling the terrorist group’s heavy attack after killing and wounding a large number of militants on Tuesday.
The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Tahrir al-Sham and its terrorists allies, deployed in the village of Nawara in Jabal al-Turkmen, and repelled their attack on government forces’ positions between Nawara and the village of Arirah.
In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units targeted terrorists’ movements and supply line in the region, killing and wounding a number of gunmen.
Field sources, meantime, reported that the army men further carried out a counter-attack and recaptured lost lands near Nawara.
The sources further said that heavy fighting is underway between Damascus forces and terrorists in Atireh, al-Dareh and Shahroureh in Northern Lattakia.
The sources went on to say that hundreds of terrorists had participated in the attack, adding that the army men killed a large number of militants and destroyed their equipment on large scale.
Aleppo
Two units of an Ankara-backed militant group exchanged heavy fire in occupied lands in Northern Aleppo again on Tuesday as civilians feel enraged due to their presence.
Two units of Firqa Sultan Morad, affiliated to the Turkish army, engaged in fierce clashes in the town of Jarabulus in Northern Aleppo, inflicting several casualties on both sides.
Meantime, local sources said that residents in Northern Aleppo are showing anger over continued infighting among the terrorist groups in the region through several demonstrations against militants, calling for their expulsion from their towns and villages.
In the meantime, Ankara-backed Jarabulus Local Council warned civilians that had sought shelter in a school to leave there immediately.
Militant-affiliated sources reported that the Turkish army is planning to establish a university affiliated to the Turkish university of Gaziantep at the school in Jarabulus.
Based on the latest reports from Jarabulus, people at the school have protested at the council’s order to leave the school.
Dara’a
The Syrian Army troops eventually managed to push back terrorists from the entire border region between Southern Dara’a and Jordan on Tuesday.
The army men staged a rapid march on terrorists and freed the entire border region between the Southern province of Dara’a and Jordan after imposing control over Zeizoun region West of Dara’a.
The only area in Dara’a still under terrorists’ control is a few-kilometer-long chunk of the border taken by the ISIL.
In the meantime, field sources said that the army has arrived at the ISIL-held region in Hawz al-Yarmouk.
The army has cut off the link between the remaining pockets of terrorists trapped in Dara’a city and the operation room in Jordan that is run by the army and security services of a number of Arab and western states, known as the Al-Mouk Operation Room.
Idlib
A senior field commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Southern Idlib on Tuesday.
Abu Hossein Khatab, a senior Tahrir commander, was killed after unknown raiders opened fire at him in Eblin township in Southern Idlib.
One of Khatab’s aides was also killed in the attack.
In the meantime, a number of ISIL terrorists were killed in clashes with Tahrir al-Sham rival militants in the town of Ariah in Southern Idlib.
Also, several terrorists were killed or wounded in a bomb blast in the town of Salqin.
Meanwhile, sources in Aleppo province reported that at least nine Tahrir al-Sham gunmen were killed and several more were wounded after unknown raiders attacked their base in al-Hamdaniyeh district along the Aleppo-Damascus highway.
