Iraqi, Kurdish forces overrun ISIS south of Makhmour
Iraqi Security Forces (ISF), backed by Peshmerga fighters, launched a joint operation to oust ISIS elements from Mount Qarachogh, near Makhmour.
The campaign, heavily backed by the international coalition forces and airstrikes, have secured up to 30 square kilometers of territories located south of the mountain.
Tunnels, hideouts and fortifications of the terror group were destroyed by the coalition airstrikes.
The Kurdish forces have suffered several casualties, while ISIS lost at least 15 militants.
