Hezbollah: Israeli Enemy to Pay Heavy Price for Assassination of Islamic Jihad Member
Hezbollah denounced the assassination of a senior member of Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades in Syria, blaming the Israeli occupation for the “crime.”
In a statement, Hezbollah media Relations said on Sunday the assassination of Ali Ramzi Al-Aswad “has Israeli fingerprints as it comes at a time the enemy suffers from Palestinian resistance operations as well as unprecedented internal division.”
“Assassination attacks against resistance commanders and members won’t enable the enemy to achieve its goals,” the statement, obtained by Al-Manar, read, adding that “the only way to put an end to the Israeli terror and crimes.”
“The resistance factions will force the enemy to pay heavy price for its aggression,” the statement added.
Earlier on Sunday, the Islamic Jihad announced martyrdom of Al-Aswad, 31, was shot dead by agents of the Zionist enemy in the Damascus countryside.
In a statement, the Islamic Jihad described al-Aswad’s killing as a “cowardly assassination bearing the fingerprints of the Zionist enemy.”
“We hold the Zionist enemy responsible for this crime,” the Palestinian resistance movement said, vowing a response.
Palestinian media reported that martyr Al-Aswad originates from Haifa, adding that he works as an engineer at Al-Quds Brigades.
