Several Palestinians Injured by ‘israeli’ Forces at Anti-Settlement Protests in West Bank
Injuries were sustained by a number of Palestinians and dozens more experienced tear gas inhalation due to the violent dispersal of anti-settlement demonstrations by Israeli military forces in the northern area of the West Bank which is under Israeli occupation.
Extremist Jewish settlers, guarded by Israeli troops, forcibly entered Qaryout village, which is 17 miles (28 kilometers) southeast of Nablus, on Friday, resulting in standoffs with the locals. Ghassan Daghlas, who watches over activities in the northern West Bank, reported this.
Israeli troops and settlers clashed with the protesting villagers, resulting in the injury of some via rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters. Many others had difficulty breathing due to tear gas inhalation.
Confrontations occurred when Israeli troops responded to protests against settlements in Beita and Beit Dajan, located south and east of Nablus, respectively.
Two Palestinian civilians experienced difficulty breathing in Beita, and twelve others were injured in Beit Dajan, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
A number of Palestinians were injured after Israeli soldiers used rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas bombs to disperse protesters in Kafr Qaddum town in a related event.
Beginning in July 2011, weekly marches have taken place in Kafr Qaddum, with the town’s inhabitants demonstrating for the opening of the primary entrance which has been shut for numerous years.
Israel has been emboldened by the full backing of former US president Donald Trump and has increased its illegal construction activities in the West Bank and East al-Quds settlements, which are in direct contradiction to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, declaring them a violation of international law.
Approximately 600,000 Israelis reside in more than 230 settlements established since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The United Nations Security Council has issued several resolutions condemning Israel’s settlements in the occupied territories, deeming them illegal under international law.
Palestinians are hoping to include the West Bank in a potential independent nation, with East al-Quds serving as its capital.
27 retaliatory operations were conducted by Palestinian resistance fighters.
Over the course of the last 24 hours, the Palestine Information Center (Mo’ata) has reported 27 retaliatory operations conducted by resistance fighters.
In al-Eizariya town, the Bab al-Asbat neighborhood of the Old City of al-Quds, Silwan district in East al-Quds, and the Shuafat refugee camp, clashes erupted between Palestinian youth protesters and Israeli forces.
At the Lions’ Gate of the Old City of al-Quds, Palestinians clashed with extremist settlers in protest of the contentious flag march. As a result, an Israeli policeman and three settlers were injured.
Confrontations occurred in Silwad town, al-Mazra’a al-Qibliya village, Marah Rabah village, Husan town, Tuqu’ town, Umm Rukba district at the edge of Bethlehem, Beit Ummar town and al-Arroub refugee camp.
