Thousands march in Paris to demand immediate ceasefire in Gaza
Thousands gathered in Paris on Saturday to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and show their support for the Palestinian people.
Footage shows protesters lighting flares and firecrackers in the streets. Others were seen marching while waving Palestinian flags and holding banners and flags displaying slogans such as, ‘Liberate Palestine’ and ‘Long live resistance’.
The rally was called for by the ‘Euro-Palestinian Organisation’ with many of the participants denouncing the French government for its perceived inaction in bringing peace to the Gaza Strip.
The rally in Paris comes two months after Israel launched a devastating war on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7. At least 17,700 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and nearly 49,000 others wounded, while many people are still trapped under the rubble.
