More than a thousand Israeli attacks on health facilities in Gaza
Geneva, SANA-The World Health Organization representative in the Palestinian Territories, Rick Peppercorn, announced that since October 7, more than a thousand attacks on health facilities have been recorded.
” UN News center quoted peppercorn as telling reporters, that “there are currently no functioning hospitals in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, following the recent Israeli attack on the city.”
Peppercorn stressed that seriously ill patients should be allowed to leave Gaza, explaining that there are about ten thousand patients in need of urgent evacuation, half of them suffering from severe injuries, including spinal injuries and amputations.
Meanwhile, Muhannad Hadi, UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said that “there is no longer a safe place in Gaza and that humanitarian workers face a challenge on all fronts”
Hadi added that “people are stranded on the roads and have been displaced several times, with very a few supplies that they desperately need.”
The situation is dire for everyone, especially women, children, the elderly and people with disabilities,” he said.
