Leader’s advisor holds meeting with Pezeshkian
Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, met and held talks with President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday morning.
During the meeting, Velayati wished Pezeshkian success on his mission.
The two sides also discussed a range of issues related to regional and international developments.
The inauguration ceremony of the president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian will be held on Tuesday afternoon.
Spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board Hojjatoleslam Alireza Salimi stated that the Parliament members will welcome the delegations and foreign officials who are guests at the inauguration ceremony of the president on Tuesday morning.
The inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian will be held on Tuesday evening at the general assembly of the parliament.
Pezeshkian received more than 16 million votes against former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili with more than 13 million out of over 30 million votes cast, electoral authorities said.
The runoff on Friday followed a June 28 ballot in a snap election to find a successor to President Ebrahim Raeisi who lost his life with his foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and others in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran.
