Promotion of peace stands as the foremost priority in Iran’s policies, asserts Leader’s aide
A senior advisor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has affirmed that advancing peace stands as a foremost objective within Iran’s policy framework.
In a statement made during a ceremony held in Tehran on Monday, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, the advisor on Army affairs to Iran’s Supreme Leader, emphasized that the nation has upheld the promotion of peace as one of its “definite and permanent” policies, drawing on the principles of the Islamic model.
He noted that an examination of the Islamic Revolution’s history demonstrates Iran’s Islamic government has consistently maintained a commendable record of peace, friendship, and good neighborly relations, without ever initiating an attack on any other nation.
Supported by both Western and Eastern powers, former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein launched a conflict against Iran during the 1980s. Despite this, he encountered staunch resistance from the Iranian populace and their military forces, ultimately failing to accomplish his objectives, he remarked.
A high-ranking Iranian military official asserted that the United States and Israel, with the backing of Western nations, have conducted numerous severe assaults on Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza, and Palestinian territories over the past few decades, further fostering conflict in these regions.
Hatami stated that Iran views violence, military interventions, the killing of defenseless and oppressed individuals globally—especially in Gaza—along with war crimes, crimes against humanity, occupation, and harsh sanctions against the Iranian populace, as the foremost impediments to peace, progress, and development.
He stated that it is the obligation of every nation globally to firmly oppose and combat such offenses.
Hatami voiced optimism that intellectuals and peace-seeking leaders globally would adopt the model of sustainable and equitable peace, paving the way for enhanced global harmony and the comprehensive establishment of justice.
**Iran Vows Strong Retaliation Against Any Acts of Aggression**
Hatami emphasized that the protracted eight-year conflict initiated by Saddam Hussein against Iran underscored a crucial lesson for the Iranian people: global peace remains elusive owing to the absence of equitable peace frameworks and the prevalence of leaders who instigate war.
He emphasized that the Iranian nation has acquired substantial defense capabilities, asserting that although peace remains its official policy, it will not permit any nation to miscalculate or engage in acts of aggression.
A senior aide to the Leader emphasized that the Islamic Republic is resolutely committed to safeguarding its national peace and security.
