Utmost unity: Islamic Jihad says fighting shoulder to shoulder with Hezbollah against Israel

The secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement has reiterated the unyielding solidarity of his group with Hezbollah amid unrelenting Israeli strikes across Lebanon, stressing that Palestinian and Hezbollah fighters are fighting shoulder to shoulder against the Tel Aviv regime.

Delivering a televised speech on the eve of the first anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, Ziyad al-Nakhalah saluted the Lebanese nation, Hezbollah resistance movement, and its late leader and symbol of resilience Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

“Our fighters are fighting shoulder to shoulder with Hezbollah combatants on the Lebanon front. Our Lebanese brethren have demonstrated the highest level of confrontation on the battlefield,” he said.

Since dawn on Thursday, Hezbollah fighters have been repelling every attempt by Israeli forces to advance on multiple fronts in southern Lebanon, inflicting heavy losses in equipment and personnel.

A Lebanese political analyst recently praised Hezbollah’s operational capabilities, warning that Israeli forces will become “sitting ducks” for the Lebanese resistance group should they attempt a ground invasion of southern Lebanon.

Nakhalah also extended his greetings to the Yemeni people and the leader of Ansarullah resistance movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, for their excellent and unique role in supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and their resistance.

Additionally, the Palestinian resistance leader praised Iran for its longstanding support of the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic continues to back the Axis of Resistance despite all the difficulties it is faced with.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Nakhalah noted that al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, has maintained a constant presence on all battlefields throughout Palestinian territories, both in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip.

He stressed that the Islamic Jihad’s commitment to the unity of resistance forces has been evident since the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in early October last year.

The Islamic Jihad chief then called on all resistance forces as well as sectors of the Palestinian society to remain united and turn away from what leads to disunity and division in their struggle against the occupying Israeli regime.

“The unity of resistance forces in the region is essential to achieve ultimate victory. The unity of the Palestinian nation is a must in order to confront the Zionist enemy.

“From the first day of the Gaza war, our decision was to unite resistance forces on the battlefield. We authorized our brethren in the Hamas movement to lead the political battle,” Nakhalah said.

The Islamic Jihad chief stated that the Zionist enemy continues to waste time, evades its obligations and seeks to put forward unreasonable demands in order to somehow make resistance forces surrender.

Nakhalah also reiterated the Islamic Jihad’s commitment to its previously declared demands, including complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction of the war-ravaged coastal territory and an exchange agreement that guarantees the release of Palestinian prisoners.
