Arab Group at UN condemns Israeli aggression on Syria

New York, SANA-The Arab group at the United Nations strongly condemned the repeated Israeli occupation attacks on Syrian lands, stressing that it must be held accountable and guaranteed not to escape punishment, and the necessity of putting United Nations resolutions into effect to end the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

“The Arab Group condemns in the strongest terms the repeated Israeli aggression on Syrian territory, which over the past few days has affected residential buildings, leading to casualties among innocent civilians,” Mauritania’s permanent representative whose country chairs the group for the current month, said in a statement during a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East.

He added that the group also stresses the necessity of putting the relevant United Nations resolutions into effect to end the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

Head of the Arab Group stressed the necessity of immediate action, before it is too late, in order to reach a ceasefire agreement and alleviate the suffering in Gaza, and to hold “Israel,” the occupying power, accountable for its crimes, indicating that the Security Council, “Despite the suffering and painful reality in the Gaza Strip, continues to fail to impose a ceasefire fire,” he concluded.
