Hezbollah’s recovery affirmed with election of new Secretary General, says Member of Parliament

Dr. Ali Mokdad, a member of the Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, emphasized that the election of Sheikh Naim Qassem as Secretary General signifies Hezbollah’s recovery from significant Zionist aggression.

Hezbollah announced on Tuesday the appointment of Sheikh Qassem as the new Secretary General of the Lebanese resistance movement, following the recent martyrdom of the former leader, Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, which occurred a month ago.

In an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV, MP Mokdad noted that the election was timely, indicating that additional measures are expected to be implemented soon.

Member of Parliament Mokdad emphasized that Hezbollah is not engaged in discussions concerning a ceasefire with any parties. The organization has delegated this responsibility to House Speaker Nabih Berri, who will manage the matter.

A Hezbollah Member of Parliament underscored the necessity of a ceasefire as a precursor to any negotiations seeking an agreement. He stated, “Cease hostilities to facilitate discussions on all associated matters.”

MP Mokdad stated that discussions between the United States and Israel regarding a possible ceasefire stem from Hezbollah’s unwavering military resolve.
