In southeast Iran, security forces eliminated three terrorists and apprehended six individuals during ongoing counter-terrorism operations
A high-ranking officer within Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force announced that the elite unit has successfully neutralized three additional terrorists and apprehended six others. This operation is part of an ongoing counter-terrorism exercise in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, near the Pakistani border.
General Ahmad Shafaei, spokesperson for the “Martyrs of Security” exercise, announced on Wednesday that a number of militants were neutralized or apprehended during a series of joint operations. These operations were conducted by the IRGC Ground Forces, Basij volunteer forces, law enforcement, and intelligence units.
He further reported that five militants have surrendered to authorities.
According to statements made by Shafaei, personnel from the Quds Base of the IRGC Ground Force are determined to persist in their mission until the region is completely cleared of terrorist entities and the objectives of their current operations are fully achieved.
The province of Sistan and Baluchestan, located along the Pakistan border, has experienced numerous terrorist assaults in recent years, impacting both civilian populations and security personnel.
Terrorist organizations conducting assaults on Iranian assets in the nation’s southeastern and southwestern regions are suspected to have connections with foreign intelligence agencies, according to reports.
On October 26, a tragic incident occurred in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County, where ten members of Iran’s law enforcement forces lost their lives in a terrorist attack, according to reports from provincial authorities.
The terrorist organization known as Jaish al-Adl has asserted responsibility for the attack, marking one of the most lethal incidents in the province in recent months.
The organization has been responsible for multiple terrorist incidents within Iran, focusing its operations largely in the Sistan and Baluchestan region. Their strategies involve kidnapping border guards and launching assaults on civilians and law enforcement facilities in the province, aiming to create instability and turmoil.
