Islamic Jihad in Gaza communicated to Hezbollah its commitment to maintaining unity until achieving victory

The Secretary-General of the Gaza Strip-based Islamic Jihad has vowed to maintain unity among the different factions within the regional Axis of Resistance, which includes both his organization and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

On Wednesday, Ziad Nakhala conveyed his statements in a message directed to Sheikh Naim Qassem, the leader of the Lebanese resistance movement.

In a statement, the former leader asserted, “Our commitment to remain unified as a single front and unwavering resistance will persist until triumph is achieved.”

In a recent statement, Nakhala invoked the enduring legacy of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the influential figure in the struggle for Palestine’s liberation, emphasizing that, “Defeat is not an option; victory is the only way forward.” This declaration pays homage to Hezbollah’s former secretary general, who was killed amid heavy Israeli military action in Beirut, Lebanon, during September.

A Palestinian official has praised regional resistance movements for their courageous and effective efforts against the Israeli government and its supporters.

In a written statement, he praised the unwavering resilience and strength demonstrated by communities from Palestine to Lebanon, highlighting the determination seen from Gaza to the steadfast suburbs of Beirut, and commending the dedication of both Palestinian fighters and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.

“Amid ongoing hostilities and the persistent challenges posed by the United States and its allies, there remains a steadfast commitment to maintaining the spirit of resistance with unwavering pride and dignity.”

Nakhala highlighted the swift action taken by resistance groups to aid the Palestinian population, emphasizing their willingness to risk their lives. He contrasted this with the inability of some entities to deliver even the most essential aid to those suffering from thirst and hunger in Palestine.

The statements referred to the numerous successful counteroperations conducted by various groups against the occupied Palestinian territories since October. This period marks the onset of what has been described as a genocidal conflict initiated by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip.

The official extended congratulations to the Lebanese people and the resistance for their resilience and steadfastness.

Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of his acceptance of a ceasefire agreement, these comments were made.

The Israeli government has escalated its military operations in Lebanon following the initiation of hostilities in Gaza. This intensified conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 3,768 individuals, with 42 fatalities reported nationwide on Tuesday alone. Additionally, the ongoing aggression has left 15,699 people injured.

Hezbollah has launched numerous effective retaliatory attacks targeting key military sites within the occupied territories and has successfully repelled advances by Israeli forces into southern Lebanon.

The organization recently declared that its attacks resulted in the deaths of over 100 Israeli soldiers and left more than a thousand others injured.

Analysts attribute the successful strikes as a key factor leading to Tel Aviv’s agreement to the ceasefire arrangement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon following the inability of Israeli forces to secure control over any villages in the region.
