Following the implementation of the ceasefire with Israeli forces on Wednesday, residents of Lebanon began returning to their homes in areas such as Bekaa, southern Lebanon, and Dahiyeh, the southern suburb of Beirut. This move comes despite continued threats from Israel, particularly directed at southern villages.

Shortly after a ceasefire commenced at 4:00 a.m., the Israeli Defense Forces issued a warning to residents in southern Lebanon, advising them to avoid approaching Israeli military positions and the villages that its forces had previously instructed to evacuate.

In a recent statement on platform X, Avichay Adraee, spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, announced that pursuant to the stipulations of the newly implemented ceasefire agreement, IDF troops will continue to maintain their positions within southern Lebanon.

“Civilians are strictly barred from approaching villages designated for evacuation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) or moving towards any IDF units operational in these areas.”

Images and videos shared on social media platforms have depicted long lines of vehicles transporting displaced individuals towards southern villages. This movement comes as citizens, eager to return to their hometowns, could no longer endure the prolonged wait following 65 days of intense Israeli hostilities that commenced on September 23.
