Yemeni forces launch missile and drone attacks targeting a US destroyer and three additional vessels

The Yemeni Army has announced the execution of a new retaliatory operation in adjacent maritime areas, as a countermeasure to what it describes as acts of aggression by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen.

A statement from Yemeni army spokesman Yahya Saree on Sunday confirmed that a recent military operation was executed by the nation’s naval, drone, and missile units.

An assault was launched involving sixteen ballistic and cruise missiles, along with a drone, directed at a US destroyer and three American Navy supply vessels situated in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

In a coordinated military operation, the Yemeni Armed Forces’ naval, drone air, and missile units reportedly targeted a US destroyer along with three American military supply vessels identified as the ‘Stena Impeccable,’ ‘Maersk Saratoga,’ and ‘Liberty Grace,’ according to a statement by spokesperson Saree. The operation was described as ‘qualitative and joint’ and was said to be conducted with divine assistance.

Saree emphasized that Yemeni missiles and drones successfully struck their intended targets with exact precision.

The recent military operation in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden was executed using 16 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with a drone, achieving precise and direct strikes, according to official statements.

The operation took place following an announcement by Yemen’s army earlier in the day, stating that it had successfully executed a missile strike targeting a crucial location in Tel Aviv, within the occupied territories.

A hypersonic Palestine 2 missile was utilized during the execution of the operation.

Saree emphasized that Yemen will persist in its operations opposing the United States and Israel until the cessation of what he described as the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Saree declared that operations will persist until hostilities against the Gaza Strip conclude and the blockade is lifted.

He stated, “Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs. He is an excellent Protector and an outstanding Helper.”

The Yemeni populace has publicly expressed its solidarity with Palestine in its conflict against Israeli occupation, following a significant escalation that began on October 7, 2023. This surge in hostilities started after Palestinian resistance groups initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, prompting a severe military response from Israel against Gaza.

In a significant escalation of violence, Israeli military actions have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 44,382 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and have left 105,142 individuals wounded in Gaza.

The Ansarullah resistance movement in Yemen has declared its focus on targeting vessels associated with Israel, the United States, or the United Kingdom, as part of its strategy to compel an end to what it describes as the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal actions in Gaza.

In October, the United States deployed B-2 stealth bombers against targets in Yemen as part of its military support operations for Israel.
