In cooperation with Russian forces, military operations in northern Syria have resulted in the elimination of 2,000 terrorists

According to Syrian sources, approximately 2,000 foreign-backed Takfiri militants have been reportedly killed in joint operations by the Syrian military and Russian forces in northern Syria over the past week.

On Wednesday, official sources reported the casualties as part of an intensified counterterrorism operation undertaken by Syrian military forces, with the support of the air force and Russian military aircraft.

According to a report from the Russian Coordination Center in Syria, recent military strikes targeting terrorist assembly areas and hideouts in the northern region have resulted in the deaths of approximately 120 terrorists.

Among the fatalities were numerous Takfiri militants, who perished amid intense operations aimed at their assemblies in the rural regions surrounding Hama. Reports indicate ongoing clashes northwest of the city. In addition, the offensive led to the destruction of several vehicles belonging to the militant group.

Recent reports indicate that the Syrian military has conducted a number of successful operations in northern Hama, effectively extending the security perimeter by 20 kilometers (12 miles) around the city.

Military operations have resulted in the elimination of 300 militants affiliated with the group known as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), including a number of foreign combatants.

The military forces successfully neutralized 25 drones operated by terrorist groups in northern Hama and severed their critical supply routes.

In a significant escalation of hostilities, heavy missile strikes were launched against locations utilized by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the city of Idlib.

In the southern region of Idlib, the Syrian military has ramped up its bombardment operations, resulting in numerous casualties within the Takfiri groups.

Reports indicate that hospitals in Idlib are currently inundated with injured individuals believed to be members of terrorist groups. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is reportedly enforcing strict measures to prioritize the treatment of casualties identified as part of their ranks.

In response to recent advancements, the Takfiri groups and media organizations in Western and regional nations backing them, such as the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights—which is regarded as a monitoring entity—have initiated a vigorous propaganda campaign. They claim that terrorist forces have penetrated the city of Hama.

During the ongoing campaign, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) allegedly enforced an internet blackout in the city to conceal what Syrian sources describe as “falsehoods regarding the arrival of terrorists” in the area.

According to Syrian security officials, Hama is currently secure, with military units strategically positioned around the city to ensure its safety.

Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network has reported that nations backing the insurgent groups have significantly intensified their involvement in northern Syria.

The statement noted that additional military support from Syria’s allies within the regional Axis of Resistance is anticipated, with reinforcements due to arrive within the coming hours, supplementing the forces already on the ground.

Earlier this week, reports emerged indicating that members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) had seized control of several government-held territories, resulting in the deaths of dozens of soldiers in northern Syria.

The Syrian military, in collaboration with allied Russian forces, initiated comprehensive counter-terrorism operations, leading to a concerted media campaign by terrorist groups and their Western backers seeking to undermine the Syrian forces’ effective efforts.

Damascus has characterized the campaign as nothing more than a “media war,” downplaying its significance.
