Airports in Damascus and Aleppo have recommenced their operations
Syria's Damascus International Airport is scheduled to resume operations on December 18, after being shut down on Sunday due to a swift offensive by rebel forces that led to the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad's government.
After being shuttered since December 8, the airports in the Syrian cities of Damascus and Aleppo have reopened for aircraft operations. However, flights can currently only be conducted under specific permits, as indicated by NOTAM messages disseminated by airline dispatchers.
According to official communications, all flights to and from the airport have been suspended, with the exception of flights operating under special permits issued by the civil aviation authority. The suspension is scheduled to be in effect from 8:00 p.m. GMT on December 12 until 3:00 p.m. GMT on December 18
