Syrians reportedly experienced a dignified lifestyle during the period of Iranian presence
The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a condemnation of Israeli actions and occupation in Syria. He remarked that under Iran's presence, the Syrian people previously experienced a dignified way of life.
Major General Hossein Salami delivered a speech on Sunday during a conference held in Tehran, focusing on the Sacred Defense against the Baathist regime led by Saddam Hussein.
In a stark statement, the chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps compared the actions of foreign powers in Syria to predatory wolves targeting a vulnerable deer, suggesting that these forces are systematically dismantling the war-torn nation.
He stated that the citizens of Damascus have come to realize the importance of resistance fighters during their presence, and the significant hardship the nation endures in their absence. His remarks followed reports indicating that the Israeli military was approaching the outskirts of Damascus.
General Salami stated that their presence in Syria was not motivated by a desire to annex Syrian territory or to serve any ambitious interests. Instead, he emphasized that their mission was aimed at safeguarding the dignity of Muslims.
He indicated that following the collapse of the Syrian government, the country experienced significant turmoil, alluding to military strikes and territorial occupation by Israeli forces as contributing factors.
He issued a stern warning to the Israeli government against any premature celebrations over the change in Syria’s administration, emphasizing that “The Israelis will face significant consequences. They will eventually meet their downfall on Syrian territory, although this may not happen immediately.”
“This lesson, much like the insights gained from the Sacred Defense, is invaluable,” he stated.
He reminisced about the legacy of the late commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Martyr Qassem Soleimani, emphasizing that Soleimani should serve as an exemplary figure for Muslim youth to resist domination by non-Muslim entities.
The chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) asserted a firm commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security and sovereignty, alongside the interests of the Islamic Establishment, and the nation’s historical and territorial integrity.
