Iran urges a unified international response to halt zionist war crimes and hold the regime’s officials accountable
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht Ravanchi, has called on the international community to take decisive action to halt the Israeli regime's alleged atrocities and hold its leaders accountable for their actions.
During a routine Japan-Iran Vice-Ministerial Consultation held in Tehran on Sunday, Takht Ravanchi delivered comments in a meeting with Japan’s Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Funakoshi Takehiro.
He claimed that the Israeli government is perpetuating its military campaign in Occupied Palestine and has extended its hostilities into Syria.
He emphasized that the global community bears a collective duty to address Israel’s alleged serious offenses, including accusations of war crimes and genocide.
Since October 7, 2023, the conflict in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 44,976 Palestinians, with a significant portion being children and women. Additionally, the ongoing hostilities have left 106,759 individuals injured, as reported from the region.
The military offensive has received strong backing, both militarily and politically, from Western allies of the Israeli government, notably including the United States and France.
In a recent interview with Khamenei.ir, published on Sunday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated that the possibility of issuing a death sentence against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip “cannot be ruled out.”
Highlighting the diplomatic ties between Tehran and Tokyo, Takht Ravanchi emphasized the “imperative and necessary” need for ongoing bilateral consultations across various levels.
Iran’s chief diplomat has urged enhanced cooperation and stronger ties, with a particular emphasis on boosting economic and commercial relations.
He expressed approval for Japan’s enhanced role in bolstering security and stability in the West Asia region.
