Israeli regime forces demolished military installations of the Syrian Army, including the largest headquarters in southern Syria

For the ninth consecutive day, Israeli military forces have persisted in carrying out operations within Syrian territories.

According to a report from Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Syria on Thursday, Israeli forces have fully taken control of around 500 square kilometers in the southern region of Syria.

Our correspondent reported on the extensive Israeli demolition of Syrian military installations situated on the slopes of Mount Hermon, as well as in the al-Quneitra and Daraa regions.

In a development reported by local Syrian sources to Al Mayadeen, Israeli occupation forces have reportedly demolished positions in several areas, including Haramoun, Tal Ain Marwan, Tal al-Hamriya, al-Tilal al-Homr, and Tal al-Kassarat. These locations are situated in the northern countryside of Quneitra, which intersects with the slopes of Mount Hermon.

Sources have verified that occupation forces have demolished the headquarters of the Syrian Army’s second and third battalions, which are notably among the largest in the southern region of the country.

Furthermore, occupation forces confiscated sophisticated communication and jamming devices from strategic positions once held by the Syrian Army’s 12th Brigade. These positions were located in villages along the disengagement line, such as Kudna, al-Hairan, Swisah, and el-Maalgah, situated in the southern Quneitra countryside.

The occupying forces, alongside masked operatives and overseen by officers proficient in Arabic and operating under Arabic pseudonyms, conducted a series of raids and detention operations targeting local farmers.

For the ninth successive day, Israeli forces have intensified their activities in Syrian territories, reportedly taking control of the Syrian section of Mount Hermon and occupying a buffer zone monitored by the United Nations in the Syrian Golan Heights, according to reports.

On the preceding day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed the Israeli Defense Forces to make preparations for an extended presence in the Mount Hermon region of Syria, as well as in the buffer zone, with plans to maintain this positioning until at least the end of 2025.

In Syria, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent relayed reports of over 15 civilian violations occurring in Homs. Local inhabitants have appealed to the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, known for its campaign that led to the removal of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, urging them to step in and halt these violations.

In a development related to recent events, Iraqi officials disclosed on Thursday that they have initiated the process of repatriating Syrian soldiers who had sought refuge in Iraq two weeks prior. The return of these individuals to Syria is being facilitated through the al-Qaim border crossing. This move follows “coordinated efforts” with the newly established leadership in Syria.
