Top Authorities Weigh Plans to Redress Imbalances in Iran

The heads of the three branches of power in Iran held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways to remove the main imbalances in the country.

The meeting was attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei.

The head of the Plan and Budget Organization (PBO) and a number of economic managers were also in attendance.

PBO Chairman Hamid Poormohammadi presented a detailed report on the country’s main imbalances and the reasons behind them in the sectors of budget, energy, banks, funds and water.

The cabinet’s solutions and plans to address those imbalances were discussed later on, the president’s website reported.

It was decided that energy imbalances are set as a top priority at the regular sessions by Pezeshkian, Qalibaf and Ejei, with the aim of swiftly removing obstacles in the way of implementing the cabinet’s plans to address problems in the energy sector.
