FM Araghchi asserts that the Resistance Axis cannot be eradicated through the use of weapons, nor by the martyrdom of its leaders
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has characterized the Axis of Resistance as a "sacred mission," asserting that it cannot be eradicated by military means or the assassination of its leadership.
During a ceremony at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Araghchi paid tribute to Iran’s anti-terrorism commander, General Qassem Soleimani, marking the fifth anniversary of his martyrdom.
According to his statement, General Soleimani redefined the concept of resistance into a strategic military doctrine, termed the Axis of Resistance, creating what he described as an “indestructible” force across the region.
He stated that the Resistance Axis is a movement that cannot be eradicated through military force. It transcends individual leadership and remains resilient even in the face of the loss of its leaders.
Iran’s chief diplomat emphasized that the sacrifice of martyrs serves as the primary driving force behind the ideology of resistance.
He stressed that adversaries should not perceive any harm to the Resistance Axis as a triumph for them, warning instead that it marks the onset of their downfall.
Araghchi emphasized that diplomacy is an integral component of the resistance ideology, which is inextricably linked to the military domain.
On January 3, 2020, a United States drone strike sanctioned by then-President Donald Trump resulted in the deaths of General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy leader of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, along with their entourage near Baghdad International Airport.
The two commanders held significant esteem throughout West Asia due to their pivotal roles in combating the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in both Iraq and Syria.
