US, UK initiated new aerial offensives targeting Yemen’s Sa’ada region

In recent developments, U.S. and British military forces have launched new airstrikes on Yemen's northwestern city of Sa'ada, just days after their coalition conducted aerial attacks on the western coastal province of Hudaydah.

According to Yemen’s Saba news agency, which referenced a local source who requested anonymity, the Western military coalition conducted three airstrikes in the early hours of Sunday, targeting areas east of the provincial capital, Sa’ada.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the level of damage incurred or any potential casualties.

On December 30, the US-British naval coalition conducted a pair of airstrikes in Yemen’s western coastal province of Hudaydah, specifically targeting the at-Tuhayta district situated in the southwest region of the province.

Al-Masirah TV, the Yemeni broadcaster, reported incidents without offering additional information, while district residents took to social media to describe feeling their homes tremble due to two significant explosions.

The Yemeni armed forces have escalated their retaliatory actions targeting Israeli assets located in the occupied territories, in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, who are currently enduring severe conflict conditions.

Yemen has publicly voiced its backing for Palestine’s resistance against Israeli occupation following the onset of Israel’s intense military campaign in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023. This conflict escalation was triggered by Palestinian resistance factions initiating Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israeli forces.

The Ansarullah group in Yemen has reportedly been engaging in attacks on vessels associated with Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom in an effort to compel the cessation of what they describe as the Tel Aviv regime’s aggressive actions in Gaza.

Recent operations have led to the closure of the Eilat port, located to the south of the contested regions, resulting in considerable economic challenges for Israel.

The Yemeni military has declared its intention to persist with its assaults until Israel ceases its ground and air operations in Gaza.

According to recent reports, Israeli military actions in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 45,717 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, with an additional 108,856 individuals sustaining injuries since the conflict began.
