FM Araghchi: Resistance continues to strengthen despite adversarial strategies, remains resilient to bombardment
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has indicated that the resistance ideology has been gaining momentum in recent months, despite efforts by adversaries to undermine or destabilize it.
In a ceremony held on Tuesday to commemorate Iran’s fallen anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani, Araghchi asserted that adversaries fail to comprehend that the sacrifices of martyrs serve as a potent tool for the resistance.
He emphasized that military strikes and bombings cannot eradicate the ideology of resistance.
In light of recent challenges and setbacks, the ideology of the resistance movement has demonstrated resilience and growth. Observers should not interpret the adversities faced by the resistance front in recent months as detrimental to its cause or weakening its resolve. Instead, it is anticipated that these experiences will serve to fortify and bolster the movement’s ideological foundations.
The senior Iranian diplomat lauded the late General Qasem Soleimani for transforming the concept of resistance into a dynamic movement that continues to assert a formidable presence in the region, actively challenging both Israel and Western dominance.
On January 3, 2020, a US drone strike, sanctioned by then-President Donald Trump, led to the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, along with his companions near Baghdad International Airport.
He was widely esteemed throughout West Asia for his pivotal role in combating the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in both Iraq and Syria.
In his statements, Araghchi mentioned Israel’s targeted assassinations of resistance figures, specifically highlighting the Hezbollah Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
“He expressed certainty that the sacrifice of Martyr Nasrallah would bolster Hezbollah, enhancing its strength and capability.”
Addressing recent developments in Syria, he remarked that the Syrian armed forces faced a psychological setback, exacerbated by media warfare, before any military defeat. He stated, “The Syrian army was overcome through psychological tactics before engaging in battle, ultimately failing to mount a resistance.”
