Qassam Brigades: Zionist regime to face severe consequences for its acts of aggression

The al-Qassam Brigades, the military faction of the Palestinian group Hamas, has issued a stern warning that the Israeli government will face consequences "in blood" for its ongoing actions against Palestinians.

Abu Obaida, spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, issued a statement on Monday warning that continued Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank would result in repercussions, implicating potential casualties among Israeli soldiers and settlers.

He praised the recent shooting operation that resulted in the deaths of three Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank on Monday, describing the resistance fighters in Gaza as “brave heroes” who persist in showcasing their dedication amidst the ongoing Operation al-Aqsa Flood.

At least three Israeli settlers lost their lives, and six others were injured in a retaliatory shooting incident near the village of al-Funduq, situated east of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank.

The Gaza-based Hamas group has expressed commendation for what it described as a “heroic” shooting incident in the West Bank, an area under Israeli occupation.

Abu Obaida emphasized that Israel’s attempts to prevent resistance fighters in the West Bank from aiding the Gaza Strip are “bound to fail.”

He stressed that lasting peace and security will remain elusive for the occupying forces until these conditions are equally achieved for his people.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a situation assessment regarding the shooting incident in Funduq, accompanied by senior military and security officials, as stated in a brief release from his office.

The statement further noted that Prime Minister Netanyahu has sanctioned the operations aimed at capturing the Palestinian combatants in order to hold them accountable under the law.

In a statement, it was confirmed that he consented to implement a range of enhanced offensive and defensive measures in the regions of Judea and Samaria.

Since Israel initiated military operations in the blockaded Gaza Strip in early October 2023, the West Bank has witnessed a surge in casualties. This increase is attributed to the intensified almost daily Israeli raids into villages and cities within the occupied territories.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Israeli forces and extremist Jewish settlers have resulted in the deaths of at least 838 Palestinians in the West Bank since the onset of the conflict. In addition, more than 6,700 Palestinians have sustained injuries during this period.

According to recent reports, Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of at least 45,854 Palestinians, with a significant number of the casualties being women and children.
