Authorities detained member of the ISIS terrorist organization in northern Iran

Authorities in Juybar, a city located in northern Iran, have apprehended an individual affiliated with the Daesh terrorist organization, commonly referred to as ISIS.

The Information Center of the Mazandaran Police Command reported on Monday that authorities have successfully identified and apprehended an ISIS operative in the northern city of Juybar, located in Mazandaran province.

A terrorist associated with the ISIS Takfiri group was apprehended during a coordinated operation by counter-terrorism units from the Intelligence Organization of the Mazandaran and Golestan Police Commands. The individual has been transferred to judicial authorities for further proceedings.

In a development from October last year, authorities in Nowshahr, a city in northern Iran, announced the apprehension of three individuals identified as members of the Daesh terrorist organization.

In a late August development, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence reported the apprehension of 14 Daesh-Khorasan operatives in a coordinated operation spanning across the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Fars, and Khuzestan.
